Cultivating Corporate Diversity
Statistics show that only 54% of U. S. employers have implemented a diversity recruitment program. According to a study by Monster.com and Diversity Best Practices, Bridging the Gap: Diverse Job Seekers, Employers and the Internet reports that 82% of ethnically diverse online job seekers believe that the resources a company allocates to diversity recruitment reflects its overall commitment to a diverse workforce. Survey findings further reveal that when evaluating potential employers, nearly 60% of minority job seekers look for information on a company’s diversity policies and programs. Of the organizations, 66% have an official written statement conveying their vision and mission regarding diversity, 37% have specific diversity targets and goals, and only 3% have a separate diversity recruitment budget.
