
U. S. Hispanic / Latino Associations
The Hispanic and Latino communities throughout the United States have formed a number of Associations to serve many needs. Listed below is a partial group which will enable the reader to garner a sense of the economic, political, social and civic associations that exist. Some have deep roots and have been in existence for many years and are growing in political clout and economic purchasing power. As Latinos come together under one common umbrella, their ability to influence Presidential and statewide elections will continue to be a growing factor. - Association of Hispanic Advertising Agencies (AHAA) - promoting the growth, strength and professionalism of the Hispanic marketing and advertising industry to a diverse audience of business, government and educational institutions.
- Association of Latino Professionals in Finance and Accounting (ALPFA) - the leading professional association dedicated to enhancing opportunities for Latinos in the accounting, finance and related professions.
- California Chicano News Media Association (CCNMA) - promoting diversity in the news media and news coverage by ensuring that Latinos and other people of color have careers and become decision makers in print and broadcast newsrooms.
- California Hispanic Chambers of Commerce (CHCC) - represent the interest of over 400,000 Hispanic-owned businesses in the State of California. With a network of over 60 Hispanic chamber and business associations throughout the state.
- Committee for Hispanic Children and Families (CHCF) - provides child care training and referral services, youth services such as family counseling and after school care, health education addressing AIDS/HIV, domestic violence prevention and education, and public advocacy.
- Concilio Hispano - a non-profit organization providing services to the greater Boston Latino community. Founded in 1969, we are committed to fostering the culture, self-identity and advancement of Latinos and other minorities.
- Congressional Hispanic Caucus Institute (CHCI) - an organization whose programs are designed to increase the participation of young Hispanics in both public and private sectors and to foster a network of young Hispanic leaders in government-related areas.
- El Centro Chicano - serves to unite Chicanos and Latinos at Stanford University into a proactive community that creates an environment which celebrates and promotes the history, contributions, growth, and empowerment of all Chicanos and Latinos, here and beyond.
- El Centro de la Raza - a Chicano/Latino Civil Rights organization whose philosophy centers around empowering community members to empower themselves and advocate for positive social change.
- El Centro Hispano, Inc. - a nonprofit corporation located in Pittsburgh with the mission to assist families who wish to successfully relocate to this region of southwestern Pennsylvania.
- Farm Workers - dedicated to educate the public about the plight of the agricultural workers. More importantly, it recognizes the dignity of the contributions made by the men, women and children who work very hard to feed us.
- Hispanic Abilene - dedicated to the Hispanic community in the Abilene area. It is a resource guide for the Abilene community, and the visitors to the city of Abilene in the state of Texas.
- Hispanic Agenda for Action - features services provided by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services that are of particular interest to the Hispanic community and organizations serving Hispanics.
- Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities (HACU) - represents more than 300 colleges and universities committed to Hispanic higher education success in the U.S., Puerto Rico, Latin America and Spain.
- Hispanic Association on Corporate Responsibility (HACR) - a non-profit organization, headquartered in Washington D.C., striving to ensure that there is an equitable participation of the Hispanic community in Corporate America commensurate with the Hispanic purchasing power.
- Hispanic Bar Association of the District of Columbia - organization of several hundred lawyers practicing in Washington, D.C., Maryland and Virginia, and Latino students attending local law schools, and other non-lawyers who join as associate members.
- Hispanic Broadcasting Corporation - the largest Spanish language radio broadcasting company in the United States that currently owns or programs sixty-nine (69) radio stations in seventeen of the top twenty-five Hispanic markets and Puerto Rico.
- Hispanic Business - a gateway to the Hispanic business community all over the U.S. with a collective brochure of all Latino entrepreneurs trying to do business with major corporations.
- Hispanic Business Women's Alliance - an on-line community that enables you to do business, share information and ideas, and collaborate with other Hispanic women in North America, Latin America, the Caribbean, and Spain.
- Hispanic Chamber of Commerce in Western Pennsylvania - an organization dedicated to the promotion and development of Hispanic businesses in the western region of Pennsylvania.
- Hispanic Dental Association - a national organization of dental practitioners dedicated to promoting and improving the oral health of the Hispanic community across the United States.
- Hispanic Federation - an organization of Latino health and human services agencies serving Hispanics in the tri-state region - New York, New Jersey, and other neighboring areas.
- Hispanic Genealogy Center - a non-profit organization, dedicated to bringing genealogy to Hispanic Americans. Headquartered in New York City.
- Hispanic National Bar Association (HNBA) - an incorporated, non-profit, national association representing the interest of over 25,000 Hispanic American attorneys, judges, law professors, and law students in the United States and Puerto Rico.
- Hispanic Society of America - has held important exhibitions beginning in 1909 with Archer Milton Huntington and has kept his legacy through expanded exhibitions and new programs.
- HispanicVista.com - an Internet community where Latinos go to get answers --- to learn, share, grow and interact with one another through personalized services and interactive tools that enhance their online experience.
- Inner-City Arts - dedicated to bringing the arts into the lives of the children who live in and near Los Angeles’ inner city. Our programs in the visual and performing arts encourage self-expression and creativity while building the skills children need to succeed in school.
- Latin American Association - a non-profit organization that provides Latino families and individuals with basic transitional services in order to facilitate their integration into the larger community, and also advocates on behalf of Latinos in the state of Georgia.
- Latin American Health Institute - a community-based professional organization that promotes the health of the community, its institutions, families, and individuals through effective interventions that are culturally competent and technologically appropriate.
- Latin American Research and Service Agency (LARASA) - nonprofit organization created in 1964 to improve the health, education and self-sufficiency of Colorado's Latino community.
- Latin Business Association - a leading non-profit organization who extends services to the Latin Business Community. A professional association dedicated to the success of Hispanic businesses.

- Latino Issues Forum (LIF) - a non-profit public policy and advocacy institute dedicated to advancing new and innovative public policy solutions for a better, more equitable and prosperous society.
- League of United Latin American Citizens (LULAC) - organization for the advancement of the economic condition, educational attainment, political influence, health and civil rights of the Hispanic population in the USA.

- Mexican American Opportunity Foundation - is committed to seeking, developing, and administering projects, programs, research and related activities on behalf of the socially and economically disadvantaged children, youths, adults, and older persons.
- National Alliance for Hispanic Health - organization focusing on the health, mental health, and human services needs of the diverse Hispanic communities, and connecting communities and creating change to improve the health and well being of Hispanics in the United States.
- National Association of Hispanic Journalists (NAHJ) - dedicated to the recognition and professional advancement of Hispanics in the news industry. Established in April 1984, NAHJ created a national voice and unified vision for all Hispanic journalists.
- National Association of Latino Elected and Appointed Officials (NALEO) - promotes the participation of Latinos in the American Political Process and the integration of Latino immigrants into the American society, and provides assistance and training to the nation's Latino elected and appointed officials.
- National Council of La Raza (NCLR) - a private, nonprofit, nonpartisan, tax-exempt organization established in 1968 to reduce poverty and discrimination, and improve life opportunities for Hispanic Americans.
- National Hispanic Corporate Council (NHCC) - a non-profit organization seeking to provide a clearinghouse of Hispanic marketing information, expertise and counsel for companies.
- National Hispanic Council on Aging (NHCoA) - dedicated to improving the quality of life for Latino elderly, families, and communities through advocacy, capacity and institution building, development of educational materials, technical assistance, policy analysis and research.
- National Hispanic Medical Association (NHMA) - provides policymakers and health care providers with expert information and support in strengthening health service delivery to Hispanic communities across the nation.

- New America Alliance - an organization of American Latino business leaders united to promote the advancement of the American Latino community.
- Salvadoran American Leadership and Educational Fund (SALEF) - promotes the civic participation and representation of the Salvadoran and other Latino communities in the U.S. and promotes the economic, educational, and political development and democracy in El Salvador.
- SER-Jobs for Progress National, Inc. - non-profit corporation with special emphasis in addressing the needs of Hispanics in the areas of education, job skill training, literacy and employment opportunities.
- Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers (SHPE) - promotes the development of Hispanics in engineering, science and other technical professions to achieve educational excellence, economic opportunity and social equity.
- Society of Mexican American Engineers and Scientists (MAES) - an organization with a national membership representing all the engineering and scientific disciplines of the Mexican American community.
- Southwest Voter Registration Education Project (SVREP) - is committed to educate Latino communities about the democratic process, the importance of voter registration, and voter participation.

- Texas Association of Mexican American Chambers of Commerce (TAMACC) - promotes the growth development and success of local Hispanic chambers of commerce and serves as the leading advocate of Hispanic business in Texas.
