As the numbers of Hispanics began to grow rapidly in the last decades Latino icons began to emerge. Leading the rising wave were entertainers such as Ricky Ricardo, Celia Cruz, Arturo Sandoval, Santana, Julio Iglesias and Gloria Estafan just to name a few. The second wave witnessed the emergence and market crossover examples including Ricky Martin, Marc Anthony, Chayanne, Enrique Iglesias, Cristina Aguilera and Shakira. A third wave of actors/actresses pushed the Latino Boom to new heights. Antonio Banderas, Cameron Diaz, Jennifer Lopez, Benicio del Torro, Selma Hayak, Penelope Cruz, George Lopez, and Eva Mendez. Talk show giants including Sabado Gigantes Don Francisco, Cristina, and Geraldo Rivera. We also began to see even more highly paid Latino sport superstars being drafted into the major leagues. The wave crested and the tipping point was the proliferation of media coverage where the Latino Boom started to become ubiquitous. In the business and government sectors as well as universities there have been a plethora of Hispanic Entrepreneurs and Latino leaders that have risen to the top.
