Rene Balmaseda, an entrepreneur who successfullylaunched and rapidly grew three companies. Greene Beech Advertising, Balcorp Design, and Grupo Balmaseda, LLC arecruiting firm that focuses on diversity -- Hispanic / Latino mid to seniorlevel searches.
A unique blend of creative marketing and years ofrecruiting expertise distinguish Grupo. Utilizing years of marketing and advertising agency business developmentskills created a solid foundation for the recruiting reputation he hasdeveloped. He and his team have beeninvolved in over 200 searches in a variety of functional areas.

With an exclusive business portfolio assembled for over twenty yearsincluding Fortune 1000 companies, in a variety of industries coupled with hisvast business experience in the Hispanic / Latino as well as other minoritysegments of the U.S. population, Balmaseda aims at capitalizing what has beenthe hallmark of his career. As Greene Beech's CEO, Balmaseda drove business development which grewat an average rate of 57% per year and managed this Latino advertising agency thattargeted multi-cultural outreach, specifically the growing Hispanic / Latino populationin the US. Over the years, he became anationally renowned expert on a broad spectrum of diversity issues with anemphasis on minority recruitment, retention, supplier diversity and humanresource strategic initiatives.
Greene Beech was founded with a modest investmentof $10,000 and no clients. Despite the business downturn of the early 90's, itgrew rapidly. Balmaseda developed keyrelationships with large companies both public and privately held. During the next 14 years, Green Beech servedseveral dozen Fortune 1000 clients, entrepreneurial start-ups, and mid-sizedcompanies. The most successful relationship, which lasted for over nine years,was with the rapidly growing WorldCom. Green Beech completed over 1,000 assignments with billings of $4 milliona year.
Another company co-founded and managed by Balmasedawas Balcorp Design in Palm Beach, Florida, a consulting firm specializing indesign projects. Within three years, hesuccessfully sold it, having doubled the revenues each year.
Prior to overseeing Greene Beech and Balcorp, heserved as a Senior Consultant for IVI, one the largest consolidated corporatetravel management consulting firms in the United States. This companycontrolled significant market share and penetration with Fortune 500 clientssuch as IBM, Bellsouth, Gould Computers, Racal Milgo, Westinghouse, StrombergCarlson and Motorola.
Under Balmaseda's leadership, first spearheading theFlorida operation and later the Southeast region, IVI opened offices in FortLauderdale, Tampa and Atlanta. The region was billing just under $10 million ayear when he began. Thirty-four months later revenues had grown to over $27million. During his tenure, Balmaseda also recruited, managed and retained atabove industry standards a diverse team of associates.
Early in his career, with mentors such as SteveRubell, the entrepreneurial founder of Studio 54 and The Delano Hotel, andLeona Helmsley, the Queen of the Palace, Balmaseda developed an acute eye forexcellence and branding.
To his credit, he created and developed aguaranteed no-show program through American Express at The Helmsley Palace. Inthe first year, with virtually no additional expense, The Palace collected over$150,000 through the program. At the time, this was a revolutionary concept inthe hospitality industry.
Balmaseda has a bachelor's degree from Boston University, School of Management and completed the Advanced Management Education Program from the Kellogg Graduate School of Management, Northwestern University. He completed graduate level courses at Universities in Boston and Miami studying for seven years concentrating in marketing.
